DESCRIPTION:
Gentoo has issued an update for iproute. This fixes a vulnerability,
which can be exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service).

The problem is that iproute accepts spoofed messages sent on the
kernel netlink interface.

SOLUTION:
Update Gentoo:

# emerge sync
# emerge -pv ">=sys-apps/iproute-20010824-r5";
# emerge ">=sys-apps/iproute-20010824-r5";
