As far as I know.. the fat/DOS file system cannot be assigned permissons.
the root.root permissions are for the linux file system..
to mount it as writable by whichever owner/group you want..you will need to
change your /etc/fstab file
I dont know the entry right off.. someone on the list will probably submit
it to you..or you can check out the how-to for mounting
