Bush gives up e-mailing because it's not secure
Friday, April 6, 2001, 10:00
AFP
Worried that nosy newshounds or the general public might get
their hands on his computer messages, President George W. Bush
said today he had given up his "avid" e-mailing altogether.
I don't want those e-mails to be in the public domain. So I don't
e-mail any more," Bush told the annual convention of American
Society of Newspaper Editors. I used to be an avid e-mailer, and
I e-mailed to my daughters or e-mailed to my father, for example,"
said the president, who cited worries that his missives might be
subject to US laws enabling the public to seek disclosure of
government documents.
