Moscow, 12th October: Moscow electronic criminals represent a real
danger to the world web users, the head of the "R" department of the
Moscow Main Interior Affairs Directorate, Dmitriy Chepchugov said on
Thursday 12th October . He was addressing the conference on hi-tech
crimes and protecting the interests of legal business.
Hackers are very active today and Moscow web-busters are facing
"groups of professional electronic bandits, and not single romantics",
he said.
Chepchugov said that Western special services quite often detect the
crimes committed by Russian computer wizards. "R" department officers
often use data provided by their foreign colleagues to catch Moscow
hackers.
Russian Interior Ministry has signed agreements to combat hi-tech
crimes with many foreign police authorities. "It helps us to put an
effective barrier to computer crimes," Chepchugov added.
