===============================================================================
o Security Bulletin Digest Split
------------------------------
The security bulletins digest has been split into multiple digests
based on the operating system (HP-UX, MPE/iX, and HP Secure OS
Software for Linux). You will continue to receive all security
bulletin digests unless you choose to update your subscriptions.
To update your subscriptions, use your browser to access the
IT Resource Center on the World Wide Web at:
http://support.itrc.hp.com/
Under the Maintenance and Support Menu, click on the "more..." link.
Then use the 'login' link at the left side of the screen to login
using your IT Resource Center User ID and Password.
Under the notifications section (near the bottom of the page), select
ITRC Maintenance/Support.
To subscribe or unsubscribe to a specific security bulletin digest,
select or unselect the checkbox beside it. Then click the
"Update Subscriptions" button at the bottom of the page.
o IT Resource Center World Wide Web Service
---------------------------------------------------
If you subscribed through the IT Resource Center and would
like to be REMOVED from this mailing list, access the
IT Resource Center on the World Wide Web at:
http://support.itrc.hp.com/
Login using your IT Resource Center User ID and Password.
Then select ITRC Maintenance/Support (located under
Maintenance and Support). You may then unsubscribe from the
appropriate digest.

This is the vulnerability reported in CERT/CC CA-2003-25:
<http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2003-25.html>
New versions are available which also address the
the issue reported here:
<http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CAN-2003-0681>
**REVISED 06**
AFFECTED VERSIONS
The following is a list by HP-UX revision of
affected filesets and the fileset revision or
patch containing the fix. To determine if a
system has an affected version, search the
output of "swlist -a revision -l fileset"
for an affected fileset, then determine if
a fixed revision or the applicable patch is
installed.
HP-UX B.11.23

END AFFECTED VERSIONS
B. Recommended solution
**REVISED 06**
--> All versions:
--> =============
--> If the following changes to /etc/mail/sendmail.cf were
--> not done when HPSBUX0304-253 was implemented they should
--> be done now:
--> Modify /etc/mail/sendmail.cf as follows:
--> Add "restrictqrun" to the PrivacyOptions.
--> After the change the line should read:
--> O PrivacyOptions=authwarnings,restrictqrun
--> Patches and web upgrades are now available for
--> B.11.00 and B.11.11. HPSecurityBul281b should
--> be removed before installing the patch or web upgrade:
--> swremove HPSecurityBul281b.INETSVCS-RUN
-->B.11.00:
--> Sendmail 8.9.3 - install PHNE_29773 or subsequent.
--> Sendmail 8.11.1 - install the web upgrade B.11.00.01.005
--> or subsequent.
-->B.11.11
--> Sendmail 8.9.3 - install PHNE_29774 or subsequent.
--> Sendmail 8.11.1 - install the web upgrade B.11.00.01.006
--> or subsequent.
-->B.11.04, B.11.22, and B.11.23:
-->1. Install the patches recommended in HPSBUX0304-253.
-->2. Download and install HPSecurityBul281b.depot
Note: To preserve the original version of sendmail,
HPSecurityBul281a.depot should be removed before
installing HPSecurityBul281b.depot. However,
there is no need to install HPSecurityBul281b.depot
on B.11.00 and B.11.11 systems where
HPSecurityBul281a.depot was previously installed
without error.
The HPSecurityBul281 depot has had two revisions.
The revision history is:
HPSecurityBul281a.depot corrected a packaging
issue with sendmail.893.11.11.r4.
HPSecurityBul281b.depot corrected a packaging
issue with sendmail.811.11.22.r5 and added
sendmail.811.11.23.r1.
The sendmail files in each of these depots are
identical to the unpackaged files listed in
the original version of this bulletin with the
exception of sendmail.811.11.23.r1. This file
is new as of HPSecurityBul281b.depot.
Note: The filenames in HPSecurityBul281 depots
(for example, sendmail.811.11.22.r5) have been
created for these depots. The "r5" is used to
differentiate the file from previous versions
packaged in temporary depots. It bears no
relation to any sendmail revision.

a browser hang. To work around this:
- Select Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
- Un-check the option:
[ ] Enable folder view for FTP sites

==================================================
--> For B.11.04, B.11.22, and B.11.23:
