When TARing to an archive, the last record of Fixed ASCII files is
truncated. The system displays the following error message:

TAR.HPBIN.SYS: write error on file "filename": System call error

This creates a data loss situation.

The problem is fixed by a change to the byte stream emulator.

A session hang will occur when a byte emulated posix script file is
    redirected in the following way:

    sh.hpbin.sys < scriptfile

Any session/process, such as TurboStore, that tries to access
    scriptfile will also hang.

Legacy device information was mistakenly removed
from the 6.0 IODFAULT.PUB.SYS file. This included
devices like the HP7980A Magnetic Tape Drive and other
    HP-IB devices.

When trying to configure a device like the HP 7980A
error messages would be returned saying the device is
    not supported.

This problem was introduced in patch MPELXL1A and carried
forward into MPELXQ3A. This replacement patch is specific
    to 6.0.
